Hanukkah 2007

Back in December, I celebrated my first Hanukkah, and boy can I say that this holiday is grrreat!!! 8 days of presents, what a great idea. Mommy was keen on getting me to smile for a picture, but how does she expect me to smile when she puts all this STUFF on me- like these things that spin around real fast, and that shiny fuzzy stuff (garland). I mean really Mom, cant a boy catch a break here??? I loved lighting the candles every night and then signing - Daddy thinks he sings just as good as Mommy but we wont tell him the truth ;). I sure did have fun with Emersyn at Aunt Courtney's and Uncle Ryan's house. Noni and Poppi got me a whole box full of toys and gifts and man, that paper that it was wrapped in sure was the best. When you shake it real fast, it makes a really fun sound!!! Noni even knit me a hat for the winter, Emersyn really didnt want me to wear it because she kept taking it off my head and putting it on hers :)
Look at me in this picture - I got the coolest vibrating chewy thing. It feels really good on my gums. Next year is gonna be even better. Maybe mommy will even let me have some potoato pancakes and applesauce - or a Jelly Donut- YUMMMO.

Look, I'm doing it by myself....

23 weeks (5 months) and already sitting up by myself. Now I just need to master this rolling over stuff and I'll be ready to motor around. Look out, Mommy.

GOBBLE, GOBBLE

Turkey Day was sweet and delish!!! In the morning, I watched the Thanksgiving Day parade with daddy on the couch while mommy cooked some dishes for dinner in the kitchen. The parade is so cool, I wish someone would get me a balloon that big. Maybe one day, huh? We had a great time at Uncle How and Aunt Reen's this year for dinner. I got to play with my cousin Em and that is always the best. She gave me kisses and even got so excited when we were both getting our jammies on, that she made pee-pees on the floor when Auntie was changing her. If my mommy let me go without a diaper even for one minute, I would probably do the same, Em, dont worry!! The house smelled really really good with turkey and fix-ins. My favorite will probably be the mashed potatoes when I am big boy !!

So what exactly do these things at the ends of my arms do?

Boy are my hands delicious!! It only took me three months to discover them but it was worth the wait, these things are GRRReat!

My Summer of NEW

I had a terrific start to life outside of mommy's belly - lots of needed sleep, lots of places to go, played with tons of new 'friends' on my toys, went to the pool with mommy (while daddy went to work- HAHA), and met a whole ton of people that are always so enamored by me. I also spent a lot of time at the doctor's office too!! It seems my tummy was a little slow to start realy enjoying the good milky mommy gives me. I know eventually it will start, but my mommy and daddy have been worried that I am so little :) They'll see, one day when tummy is ready, it will just start working the way it should, then they wont have to worry anymore. That's what the doctor, says anyway. I'm sure I'll give them something else to worry about, though ;).

Auntie Mantie and Nonni threw a really nice 'Sip-n-See'for me in August at a really cool restaurant with deliscious gelato, where I got to meet even more people- although, I was so tired from all the excitement, I slept threw a LOT of my own party! haha I hope my guests understood, afterall, I was still very little and that's what little ones do best. To me, the best part of my party was meeting my new friends- Owen, Nicholas and Henry (and of course their mommies- my surrogate Aunties). Take a look at us, what a motley little crew.

I also got to meet and spend a lot of time with my GG (great gamma). She sure was one special lady and I can tell that she really, really loved me. I loved when she would sing to me and hold me tight. I am sure when I get older, my mommy will explain what POO-POO means, cuz she said that to me a lot. GG was always smiling when I was around, so I am really glad that we could spend time together.

I got my first big boy bath when I was 5 weeks old, which was so cool- it was like being back in mommy's 'belly'. It was a little strange but I think as I get bigger I will really like it. I also took lots and lots of walks with mommy near our house. The fresh warm air feels so good, I usually fall right to sleep in my car seat because I am so content. I grew so quickly that I didnt fit in my bassinet anymore so mommy taught me how to sleep in my big boy cribby. She gave me lots of comfortable blankets and propped me up so I wouldnt fall over and hurt myself. She and daddy realy take good care of me!

Me and My Grandparents

I have the greatest grandparents. My mommy's parents live closer than my daddy's parents but they all love me SO much!!! Nonni and Poppi love to hold me and stare at me. They tell me all the time that they 'love me up to the sky'. I was 5 weeks old and got to meet my Grandpa John in Rochester. He and my daddy poke fun at each other all the time, so he must be a really funny guy. My Grandma Sharon is a really special grandma too - she came to the hospital for my debut and then came back to my house to spend more time with me over the summer. We had fun at my 'Sip-n-See' party too.

My Home-coming - June 23

Whoo hoo, I finally get to go home and sleep in my own bassinet, with my own blankets and my very own toys- this is a picture of me in my very first car ride. I LOVE LOVE hanging out in this blue contraption, too. It vibrates and my 'friends' hang above me and I just love to play with them!!

My Debut

Wanna see my debut photographs?

I thought you might like to see... June 19, 2007... A day to remember. I was supposed to come and greet everyone at 10am (see Mommy was good and ready to meet me in this photo), but things were not in my mommy's control that day. Since she was a few days before her due date with me, she wasnt in as much pain as some of the other mommies were, so those mommies got to see their moochies ahead of us. And let me tell you, there were a lot of them!! At 5:51pm I was finally able to come out and show my stuff to the world. My daddy was a little taken back by all the excitement at first, but then when he saw (and heard me) he felt much better. I dont think he expected to see so much of how mommy looks inside :~. So, anyway, I came out and made sure everyone knew I was there... my lungs needed some practice, and boy did I get it. Because I was "Upside Down Baby G" for so many weeks, my legs were a little stuck, but as soon as I had some room to stretch out, I fixed them right up. Even though it was nice and warm, comfy cozy in my moomy's belly, I was so happy to finally SEE my mommy and daddy.. mommy took real good care of me on the 'inside', but I know they'll both do everything they can to take even better care of me on the 'outside' !! Daddy couldnt wait to go and tell everyone that I finally arrived. Grandma, Nonni, Poppi, Auntie, Uncle and Emersyn were all patiently waiting for some good news... and Daddy was so happy to tell them.

My First Holiday- and there were fireworks!

My very first holiday came fast - I was only two weeks old at the time, but July 4th seemed like a really cool day. I was pretty tired from being so little, so I slept a LOT, but mom and dad had fun watching the fireworks from the comforts of home :) When I was awake earlier in the day, I was practicing focusing my eyes.. its really hard work to get them to look straight at something, I think the fireworks would have really made me dizzy!! I am pretty excited for the fireworks next year, they sound loud- I think I'll like them a lot.

Emersyn's First Birthday at Turtle Back Zoo

On Oct 7, Em turned 1!! She is such a big girl. She invited me to join her at the Turtle Back Zoo for an afternoon with our parents. It was a really warm October day so Em and I got to see the zoo animals with no layers on :). My favorite was the penguins. I dont think Em was too fond of the ponies that her mommy and daddy tried to put her on, but she really liked the other animals. She made funny faces at the ponies and started to cry a little. I was too little for those ponies this year, but I bet my mommy and daddy will try to put me on them next year when I turn as big as Em. We had a great time seeing all the animals. After we walked around for about an hour, mommy and daddy were hungry so we had lunch. I actually had my bottle while we walked through the zoo, so I was nice and full and ready for my nap by the time we got back in our car. What a great way to celebrate Em's birthday. We got back to Auntie and Uncle's house just in time for a BBQ dinner and some birthday cake. Oh boy, I have a lot to look forward to when I turn 1. Presents, pictures and of course, the best part- Cake... all over my face!!

Apple Picking at Demarest Farms

It was a beautiful fall afternoon Sept 16, 2007... we met with Auntie, Uncle and Emmy Lulu at Demarest Farms in Bergan County for some Apple Picking and Hayride. I loved the fresh air so much that it knocked me out as soon as we got on the ride. Emmy had a ball looking for apples while I was snoozin. Daddy and Uncle were even climbing the trees to get the apples that moomy and auntie wanted. My mommy loves apple picking sooo much :) I hear she makes some really good applesauce. Man, I cant wait to have some. Maybe next year, Daddy can lift me up into the trees :) Whaddaya say Dad?

Feet.. their not just for walkin!!!

Enough said.....

Yum!!! REAL FOOD

Mommy and Daddy finally fed me some yummy cereal. I was only 19 weeks old, but my mommy knew I was ready since I cant drink my bottles fast enough. First I had some rice cereal which was just OK, I'll be honest, its not all that its cracked up to be. Then, they finally gave me the good stuff on Nov 5th... Oatmeal !! I cant wait for more :) What else is there to eat, Mom and Dad?

My First Halloween -2007

QUACK! QUACK! My first Halloween was a lot of fun. My mom dressed me up in a yellow duck costume. Although it was an unusually warm Halloween, and I was a little warm in my costume, I loved being a fuzzy ducky!! Emersyn was a cute little flower, although she didnt like to wear the headband that Auntie put on her. She's really lucky because she could walk around in her costume, I cant wait until next year when we walk around together.
